One of the creative uses of Onlineboard is to use it as a shared paper for playing paper and pencil games through the internet. Playing such games can be a great activity to do while waiting for someone. Some of our users also play games on the whiteboard as an ice-breaker activity!
Our list contains a few games that we know work great with Onlineboard. We played them ourselves or our clients recommended them to us.
Games to play on online whiteboard:
Hangman is a classic pencil and paper game for two or more players. One player thinks of a word, phrase, or a sentence and writes it on the paper only using underscores so that other players can understand the number of characters they need to guess.
Other players then guess individual letters. If they correctly guess a letter the player that is thinking of a word must fill all occurrences with that specific letter into the underscore placeholders.
Watch our short video to understand the rules:
If the letter is not present in the word or phrase the gamemaster is thinking of, he writes the letter down so everyone can see which letters are not in the word or phrase.
They also draw a part of the stick figure that looks like a hanging man.
The game ends when players finish the word before the stick figure is hanged and lose if the man is hanged before they guessed all the letters.
In some variants of the game, the players can also guess the whole word instead of individual letters. However, in case they do not guess the word or phrase correctly, they lose a round try and get no feedback on whether the letters are present in the word or phrase.

Total classic. The game is for two players. The game is played on a 3x3 grid. To win the game, one player must place three of their marks (either circles or cross-marks) in a row, column, or on a diagonal of the playing board.
One of the players uses the circle shape and the other uses the cross as their shape.
A more interesting variant is called Connect Five which can be played by multiple players.
This game is similar to Tic-Tac-Toe. However, you need to connect 5 marks instead of 3 and the play-space is bigger then 3x3 grid. In some variants, the play-space is a 19x19 or 21x21 grid.
