Onlineboard is a free web application that allows you to collaborate with others in real-time. You get a shared canvas that you draw on together. Imagine a real whiteboard but in your browser. We focus on delivering the experience you are used to from real-life whiteboards.

Difference between online blackboard and whiteboard
The Onlineboard blackboard and whiteboard is the same product, the only difference is the style of the user interface and the background color of the shared canvas.
Our digital blackboard can be used for teaching in schools as it resembles the look of a school blackboard.
It is also praised by the people from around the world who love working with dark themes such as programmers, graphic designers and basically anyone who works with a computer for extended periods of time.
How does automatic dark mode detection work?
The browsers provide a way to determine, whether you have enabled dark mode in your device settings. We read this value and adjust the colors of the application and website accordingly. You can override the theme your device is reporting in settings.
What are the advantages of using a dark mode?
There are multiple advantages of using a dark themed whiteboard.
Increased battery life
When using a whiteboard a large portion of your screen is covered by the background of the whiteboard. According to a study when you use AMOLED display you can save up to 60% of your battery life by using a dark theme as opposed to a light one. Simply put, when less pixels needs to glow, less energy is used.
Increased comfort and reduced eye-strain
White glowy background of a whiteboard can induce eye-strain when using over a longer periods of time. Some people even experience headaches and migraines when using a computer. Using a dark theme is an accessibility option for those users. In this study around 80% of people said that the dark mode is easier on their eyes.
Not using white background also means a lot less blue light which has been linked to problems with sleeping. By using a dark theme, you almost completely prevent the blue light exposure as the black color is not composed of blue light (while white colors is).
Its popular and elegant
According to multiple studies dark mode usage is pretty high along the internet users and the trend is only increasing.
Many also consider darker themes as more elegant and easier to use, which is just another reason to use it.
Usage details on our platform
We compared all recently created boards and determined how many boards were created with dark background and how many were created with white (default) background, some whiteboard even use custom colors - though that is a minority of the created boards.
